The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted in Ourense the decisive contribution of the Recovery Plan in the greater transformation and modernization of Galicia. He did so during the inauguration, in Ourense, of the information day on Territorial Strategies and European Funds and in which the Conselleiro de Hacienda, Miguel Charges and the President of the Provincial Council, Luis Menor, participated. The government’s deputy delegate in Ourense, Eladio Santos, also attended.
The Recovery Plan was born with the aim of boosting economic recovery after the Covid crisis, modernizing the country and ensuring a future of progress and well-being without leaving any neighbors behind. “Today we can assure that we are fulfilling the objectives, and we affirm that the Government of Spain complies with Galicia and Ourense”, said Blanco while claiming the success of the Plan, promoted by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez and that it exceeded, in four years, the 4,000 million investments underpinning the social, economic and industrial transformation of Galicia, as well as of each and every one of its provinces.
Of the total funds injected into the community, the Government of Spain directly executed 2,298 million euros (53%) while Xunta received 1,746 million in the form of transfers (47%), approaching almost 58,000 direct beneficiaries among companies, self-employed people, households, universities, research centers and institutions. “There are 4,000 million opportunities that make it possible for Galicia to go on to lead the economic and social classification in the map of opportunities”, explained the delegate to what he added that “this balanced distribution that guarantees co-governance that we defend so much, we are approaching, for the first time in history, the every corner of Galicia, the every region, concello, parish, neighborhood, street and Galician housing”.
He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the Galicians and Galicians and to the rural, highlighting the promotion of these funds in Ourense. “We will continue to work for Galicia and Ourense with projects and investments, allowing the province to advance in strategic infrastructures, enhance the business fabric and promote the energy, digital and sustainable transition throughout the province” added the delegate.
The delegate closed his speech by encouraging the Galician mayors to “take advantage of the aid of the Recovery Plan and to arrive on time to the calls so as not to lose this historic opportunity offered by the Government of Spain,” highlighting the importance of listening to them to “understand their needs and mark a real agenda of territorial cohesion and equal opportunities,” explained Blanco.
