The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, transferred on Tuesday to the associations of neighbors of A Ponte, O Pino and O Vinteún "the enormous effort" made by the National Police to maintain security in their neighborhoods of the city of Ourense, with special surveillance devices. It did so during a meeting with neighborhood representatives held at the headquarters of the Government Subdelegation to analyze the situation of citizen security.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the associations of A Ponte, Santa Ana de O Pino, Tras Estación, Covadonga, Santa Teresita, Rúa Vinteún and Cuatro Caminos -Peliquín, who conveyed to the subdelegate their demands on security and thanked the National Police for their work. Eladio Santos gave crime data and recalled that Ourense remains one of the safest cities in Spain compared to cities of its demographic size. "Even if the data is good, we are not satisfied. The commitment of this Subdelegation of the Government to guarantee citizen security is an absolute priority and, therefore, your problems are ours and we will continue working," he said.
On the other hand, Santos insisted that the doors of this Subdelegation are open to neighbors and neighbors, because it is in the Administrations that the real data are consulted and not in the social networks. "Be wary of uncontrolled and unscrupulous chats that we've already proven to harbour lies, manipulations and lies," he warned.
At the meeting, the residents told the subdelegate of the existence of a significant number of homeless people and drug addicts in the neighborhood of A Ponte. With respect, Santos clarified that social services depend on other administrations, so he asks for their involvement to serve the people who need it.
