The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlights in Vimianzo the importance of bringing the Administration closer to the citizens through the National Police Documentation Update Points. Accompanied by the mayor of Vimianzo, Mónica Rodríguez, they supervised the new service of the PAD in the municipality.
The subdelegate stressed the Government’s commitment to the Galician rural through the installation of the PADs, a service with which the neighborhood can carry out different basic tasks related to the AGE. “In this way we bring a fundamental need to the neighborhood, improving the quality of life of the Galician rural and facilitating basic procedures such as the updating of digital certificates, the renewal of electronic ID data without having to go to the documentation offices or the change of passwords,” explained Rivas.
In this regard, the subdelegate stressed the commitment and joint work between the National Police and the different administrations “expanding access to this essential service and bringing it closer to all the rural population that was previously obliged to travel to carry out the procedures that now the PADs allow them to carry out their own municipalities or those close to us. Strengthening the commitment and turning the administration into a more accessible, agile and secure one, adapted to the current needs of society”.
The National Police is responsible for implementing these terminals in the different localities of the province and in different Galician strategic points. “The PADs, together with the Integral Vehicles of Documentation (VIDOC) facilitate the digital procedures to the neighbors of the rural, bringing them closer to the functions of the Administration,” added the subdelegate. The province of A Coruña has 8 PADs in operation: Cee, Melide, Noia, As Pontes, Rianxo, Ordes and Sada, providing these municipalities with the relevant teams, adding 27 throughout the Galician community.
The project financed through the Recovery Plan is part of the digitization strategy of the Public Administration, within the framework of the agreement signed between the Ministry of the Interior and the National Currency and Stamp Factory.
VIDOCs
The subdelegate recalled that the National Police assigned to the province three of the six Integral Vehicles of Documentation (VIDOCS) assigned to Galicia. These mobile units travel through 27 municipalities in Cordoba that do not have a police station, in addition to the Teixeiro Penitentiary Center, to provide exclusive documentation services, such as the renewal and issuance of ID cards and passports in a matter of minutes.
“Both the VIDOCs and the PADs make clear the Government’s commitment to basic public services in rural Galicia, transforming the relationship between neighborhood and Administration and bringing these services to all, regardless of the municipality in which they reside,” explained the subdelegate.
Other performances
The installation of these services had been carried out by the police stations is complemented by other actions carried out by the Government in the province, such as the program ‘A Administración Cerca de Ti’, in which officials of the Delegation and the Subdelegation help the population to obtain the digital certificate and give an account of all the services they can access, taking advantage of these days to accompany them in these processes.
In this same vein, the subdelegate also highlighted other measures such as mobile units for the issuance of the DNI; advice for the Income campaign in the concellos, or the travelling suitcase against gender violence, “all these services are designed to improve the lives of the inhabitants of the province, who will also be able to access them from anywhere thanks to the Government’s plans for broadband extension and connectivity to 5G networks,” she said.
