The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, received this morning in the Government Delegation the new commissioner of the National Police Force of Ferrol, Cristina Ochoa, in a meeting in which he was accompanied by the superior head of the National Police in Galicia, Pedro Pacheco, and by the provincial commissioner of A Coruña, Carlos Gómez Rodríguez.
During the meeting, the delegate expressed his confidence in the proven capabilities and broad trajectory of Cristina Ochoa so that the city of Ferrol continues to advance in its high levels of citizen security.
Among the challenges and objectives that the commissioner sets in this new stage, in addition to consolidating Ferrol as one of the safest cities in Galicia, the commitment to continue adapting the work of the Police to the new times stands out, with the impulse to the fight against new forms of technological crime, as well as the reinforcement of the protection of vulnerable groups and women suffering from gender violence.
Pedro Blanco highlighted the solid professional career of the new commissioner and her extensive experience in all operational areas of the National Police Force, as well as her deep knowledge of both Ferrol and the province as a whole. Until her appointment, she served as head of the Provincial Brigade of Foreigners and Borders of A Coruña. Her work in this area recently earned her a Civil Merit Medal for her commitment to the fight against trafficking in women for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The delegate congratulated Cristina Ochoa on the new responsibilities assumed and wished her "many successes in the performance of her functions for the benefit of the safety and well-being of all the citizens of Ferrol".
