The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco presided today in A Coruña the central act of commemoration of the Private Security Day, in which he claimed the collaboration of men and women working in this sector in Galicia so that the Community had consolidated its position this year among the safest in Spain.
The delegate shared this achievement with the sector and encouraged it to reinforce the convergence with the Security Bodies and Forces “for the benefit of Galicia and as the best way to face the challenges of an increasingly complex and changing environment”.
The event, which was held in conjunction with the celebration of this day at the national level, included the participation of the Subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas; the Superior Chief of Police of Galicia, Pedro Pacheco, the Chief General of the 15 Zone of the Civil Guard, Miguel Ángel González; the President of the Association of Security Companies of Galicia, Roberto Lage; the General Director of Emergencies and Interior of the Xunta, Santiago Villanueva; the territorial delegate of the Xunta in Sera A Coruña, Citizen Security, Beljén.
Pedro Blanco transferred to private security companies his responsibility to advance in the protection against computer crime, which is revealed as the criminal typology that registers the greatest increase at the national and also Galician level.
Thus, he recalled that the Government comes from recognizing this essential role of private security companies in the cyberprotection of people, infrastructures and institutions with its qualification as a strategic sector in the preliminary draft of the future National Cybersecurity Law, which is being processed.
In his speech, the delegate also conveyed the recognition of the Delegation and the Government to the men and women of Galician private security for their response during the last electricity crisis. He highlighted the commitment and firmness shown by the staff in the maintenance of citizen and business security and the recovery of essential services later.
A tribute to private security Held at the Teatro Colón in A Coruña, the tribute aimed to recognize the work of all professionals in the sector and to thank, in a special way, who stood out for their work, dedication and collaboration with public security in the last year.
This year, 55 honorable mentions were given to personnel (50 men and 5 women) proposed by the Galician Zone of the Civil Guard and by the Superior Police Headquarters.
Among the facts that justify these mentions are the collaboration in different operational services, which allowed the clarification of robberies and other crimes, as well as the prevention of other prison infractions and damage to people. The professional career of several vixilants was also recognized.
The list of mentions includes several vigilantes who were injured when defending public health professionals against attacks.
