Pontevedra, May 8, 2025.- The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, inaugurated this morning an information day on the new subsidy of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE), aimed at women victims of gender violence and sexual violence. The activity was given by the provincial director of the SEPE, Teresa Rama, and took place in the Subdelegation of the Government, bringing together the professionals of the CIMs, social entities, police commanders and technical personnel linked to the accompaniment of the victims.
During his speech, Losada stressed that “this measure covers two fundamental vulnerabilities: the one suffered by victims of gender violence and the difficulty of insertion into the labor market”, highlighting the double social and economic dimension of the subsidy. The deputy delegate showed a “moderate optimism” about the evolution of the female labor purchase and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to public policies that guarantee the rights and dignity of victims.
Thus, she recalled that in the last year there were 2,800 more female affiliations to Social Security and 2,600 fewer unemployed. And we expanded the perspective to the last seven years, since 2018 there are 21,000 more employed women and 15,000 fewer unemployed women,” he explained.
Losada also stressed the need to denounce and the collective responsibility in the face of male violence: “It is a problem that concerns us all, as a society and as public servants. We have to always have the radar activated and transmit this message clearly.”
Finally, the deputy delegate thanked the head of the Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Subdelegation, María José Rodríguez, as well as SEPE itself for the joint work they are doing. “It is essential that the different administrations unite and walk towards the same objective: to assist all the victims who need it, always taking into account their needs,” said the deputy delegate.
During the training sessions, the accreditation of the status of victim of gender violence before the Public Service of State Employment, the accreditation form, the duration, the deadlines and the amount of the new subsidy for victims of gender violence approved by Royal Decree Law 2/2024, as well as the compatibility of this subsidy with respect to active income of insertion (RAI) were addressed.
