Eladio Santos, deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, chaired on Tuesday the local security board of Allariz, which addressed the diagnosis of criminal statistics and finalized the security device for the Festa do Boi, which will be held from June 14 to 22. After the meeting, he encouraged the citizens to enjoy the celebration "safely and complying with the rules".
The meeting, held in the City of Allariz, was also chaired by the mayor of the municipality, María Cristina Cid Fernández, and was attended by the territorial director of the Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Sports in the province of Ourense, Beatriz Fernández, as well as members of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, who also addressed the state of male violence, citizen security and the Master Plan to improve security in educational centers.
Eladio Santos appealed to the responsibility of the neighbors and visitors so that the Festa do Boi, a festival with a great historical roots, happens "safely and with total normality". For this, the Civil Guard and the Local Police specified a special device in which the surveillance forces will be increased.
Regarding the review of crime statistics, the Government’s deputy delegate welcomed that in the first quarter of this year 2025 the number of crimes committed in the municipality decreased, compared to the same period of 2024. In particular, the number of crimes against heritage decreased.
At the moment, a total of seven women are protected daily by the Civil Guard and the Local Police in Allariz, half as they were a year ago. In this regard, Eladio Santos valued the collaboration between the security forces and bodies and recalled that the city council is part of the Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence (VIOGEN) since 2023.
Educational centers
They also addressed the march of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments, which took 11 talks to Allariz in this 2024-25 course on security, harassment and new technologies, attended by 230 students, and 5 more will be organized until June. At this point, the subdelegate marked as a challenge to achieve greater involvement of families in these conferences, since it is also necessary to have parents and guardians to know the current risks.
