The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, this afternoon sent a message of tranquility to the Galician citizens, who asked them to rely only on official sources to inform themselves about the electricity crisis affecting Spain from this morning and avoid unnecessary displacements to save fuel and avoid possible incidents. He also reiterated the recommendation of a limited use of telephone communication services to guarantee connections in the event of an emergency. It did so during the meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (CECOPI), of which it is part, and which is being held at the headquarters of the Galician Emergency Agency-112 in A Estrada (Pontevedra).
Pedro Blanco joined the meeting of the coordination body early in the afternoon after the activation of level 2 of the Territorial Emergency Plan of Galicia (PLATERGA) by the general director of Emergencies and Interior of the Xunta de Galicia.
In this meeting he is accompanied by the Superior Chief of Police of Galicia, Pedro Pacheco; the Chief General of the 15 Zone of the Civil Guard of Galicia, Miguel Ángel González and the Head of the Civil Protection Unit of the Government Delegation, María Dolores Gómez.
The delegate highlighted the absence of incidents of citizen security during the hours after the ruling and reported that both the Civil Guard and the National Police have activated all their personnel to ensure the attention of any emergency and facilitate the work of the Civil Protection teams. In this line, he reminded the citizens to make responsible use of these services.
In any case, Pedro Blanco reiterated the intense and continuous work of all government departments to recover the supply of electricity throughout the country as soon as possible.
In this recovery, the delegate maintains permanent contact with the heads of Red Eléctrica and Presidency of the Government to know the progress in this recovery and meet the needs that may be needed as far as Galicia is concerned.
