The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez López, announced this Friday the adhesion of the City of Lugo to the VioGen system of care and protection for victims of gender violence.
Isabel Rodríguez participated in a Security Board held in the City of Lugo, together with the mayor, Miguel Fernández, and representatives of both institutions and the State Security Forces and Corps, to sign the collaboration protocol that allows to formalize the coordination between the Local Police of Lugo and the National Police.
The deputy delegate valued the incorporation of Lugo and reaffirms the commitment of the Government of Spain to promote prevention policies and strengthen care for victims of male violence throughout the territory.
The number of active cases in Lugo capital reaches 288, with 280 victims and 285 aggressors, second the latest updated data. Of these, 74 aggressors have more than one victim, so they are considered persistent aggressors.
As for the police assessment of the risk, there are no victims in ‘Extreme Risk’. One case is counted in ‘High Risk’; 28 cases in ‘Medium Risk’; a total of 132 cases in ‘Low Risk’; and 127 cases in ‘Unappreciated Risk’. In addition, there is one victim with ‘Atenpro’ device; 276 victims with ‘Protection Order’; and 14 victims with ‘Comet’ device.
Respect for nationality, 173 victims have Spanish nationality and 107 foreign nationality. The aggressors are also mainly of Spanish nationality,180 with 105 of foreign nationality.
Of the 288 active cases, 237 correspond to the National Police and 51 to the Autonomous Police. With this signing of the protocol of collaboration and coordination between the Local Police of Lugo and the National Police, the accession to the VioGen system is formalized.
