The government’s deputy delegate in Ourense, Eladio Santos, stressed on Tuesday “the great commitment” of the central executive to the digitalization and modernization of citizen care services. He expressed this during the presentation of the DICIREG platform at the office of the Civil Registry of O Barco de Valdeorras, where he was accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Alfredo García, and the lawyer responsible for the Civil Registry of the judicial party, Manuel López Cendón.
During the visit, Eladio Santos announced that the Official State Gazette (BOE) published on Tuesday the effective entry of the computer application DICIREG in the offices of the Civil Registry of the judicial parties of Celanova, Ribadavia and Xinzo de Limia, “which means that the province of Ourense advances”.
This tool facilitates the electronic processing of files, the registration of facts related to the civil status of people, the organization of information in digital format and the access through telematics to it. In this way, it allows the electronic management of events such as births, marriages and deaths, allowing citizens to access certificates and procedures safely and remotely. Another of the improvements of this system is that it facilitates the service of Spaniards in foreign countries, since Embassies and Consulates will be able to access data of different origin integrated in a single platform.
As explained by the subdelegate of the Government, DICIREG is adapted to the new model of Civil Registry, “a 21st century registry that allows interoperability between Public Administrations and the reduction of time for users”.
“This act here at the Barco de Valdeorras shows that digitization is not just for big cities. The government’s commitment is to all people, wherever they live,” said Santos.
The progressive implementation of this tool is part of the process of modernization of justice that is being carried out by the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts. “In short, this tool marks a before and an after in the way in which citizenship is related to the Civil Registry,” concluded the subdelegate.
