The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today claimed the work of the men and women public employees “who live and work so that their actions affect the common good of the Galicians and the Galicians”. It did so in the act of imposition of the decorations of the Order of Civil Merit, which rewards extraordinary services of public workers, and which were granted on the proposal of the Government Delegation in Galicia.
On this occasion, these awards reward the delivery of five men and two women who are part of the staff of the National Police Force and the Civil Guard destined in Galicia. Pedro Blanco exemplified in them the value of the public service provided in Galicia by these professionals who “transfer to all aspects of their lives the commitment with others that they assumed at the time of their entry into these police forces”.
The award of Civil Merit Awards was held this morning in the Government Delegation. The event was attended by the Subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas; the Subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos; as well as the Superior Chief of Police of Galicia, Pedro Pacheco and the Chief General of the 15 Zone of the Civil Guard, Miguel Ángel González.
The Civil Merit Order was established in 1926 with the aim of rewarding those extraordinary services of people for the good of the nation or excellent virtues of public employees and employees. Currently, the granting of them depends on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
Decorated
In his speech, the delegate reviewed the merits for which the Government agreed to the entry of each of the decorated and decorated in the Order of Civil Merit, linked to the professional trajectory of public service of each of them. The decorations granted today correspond to the degrees of Cruz (2), Cruz de Oficial (4) and Cruz de Plata (1).
-Commissioner Cristina Ochoa, head of the Provincial Brigade of Foreigners and Borders of the National Police in A Coruña. For its commitment to the eradication of trafficking in women for the purpose of sexual exploitation in the province, in close collaboration with the organizations of the sector.
-Chief Inspector Celia Carreira, head of the Mobile Brigade in the Province of Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police in A Coruña. Pola has a career of more than 16 years dedicated in an intense way to the fight against the sexual exploitation of boys and girls through the Internet.
-Chief Inspector Sonia Rio. She was assigned to the Information Brigade of the Provincial Police Station of A Coruña. In recognition of the trajectory of public service of more than 25 years in the National Police, the last 10 of them in Galicia, in which highlights its participation in operations against criminal gangs and terrorist organizations.
-Luis Aguiar National Police. Provincial Citizen Security Brigade of the Provincial Police Station of A Coruña. More than 30 years of police service in which he adds more than 20 public congratulations in this time. In recent years it is intended for the protection of government delegates in the Community.
-Captain of the Civil Guard Javier Barja, head of the Ourense Traffic Subsector. For its commitment to road safety that translates into training projects abroad and continuous actions to sensitize citizens and also through the media as well as in the permanent relationship with local administrations of the province and with other police forces.
-Lieutenant of the Civil Guard Teresa Borrajo, Chief of the Section attached to the Headquarters of the Command of the Civil Guard of Ourense. The task is to transfer the role of the Civil Guard to the teaching centres and to give visibility to the presence of women in the Corps. He led operations in emergency situations and events with a large influx in different locations, which certifies his great capacity for operational management.
-Civil Guard Rubén Paz, member of the Underwater Activities Group of the Civil Guard of Galicia. It recognises its meritorious actions, always linked to water rescues and operations against crime at sea, in particular against drug trafficking. The recognition mentions his intervention in the rescue of the people killed in the tragic accident of a bus in Pontevedra on Christmas Eve 2022.
