The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, presented today in Ordes the new documentation update posts (PAD) of the National Police, in which the electronic certificates of the DNI can be renewed easily and free of charge and the password can be changed, “another example of the Government’s effort to bring the Administration closer to the citizens”.
The deputy delegate, who was accompanied by the mayor of the town, José Luis Martínez, and the provincial commissioner, Carlos Gómez, explained that this one from Ordes “is the first PAD in the province that is installed outside a police station, which will be followed in the coming days by those from the Pontes, Cee, Melide, Noia, Rianxo, Sada and Vimianzo; eight in total in this first phase,” she said.
María Rivas indicated that the PADs “are devices that will not only serve the residents of the municipality, but also those of the closest municipalities, which will avoid longer trips to the four police stations of the province” (A Coruña, Santiago, Ferrol and Ribeira). In addition, he stressed that the ID certificate and, together with the digital certificate, “a key to all the digital services of the Administration”. This respect, he recalled that, in the case of the General Administration of the State, with this certificate, which includes the ID, “more than 90% of the procedures can be carried out electronically and without waiting”.
The installation of these devices outside the police stations is complemented by other actions carried out by the Government, such as the program ‘A Administración Cerca de Ti’, in which officials of the Delegation and the Subdelegation, and this year also of the Social Security, the DGT and the Treasury, help the population to obtain the digital certificate and give an account of all the services they can access, taking advantage of these days to accompany them in these processes.
In this same vein, the subdelegate also highlighted other measures such as mobile units for the issuance of the DNI; advice for the Income campaign in the municipalities, or the travelling suitcase against gender violence, “all of them services designed to improve the lives of the inhabitants of the province, who will also be able to access them from anywhere thanks to the Government’s plans for broadband extension and connectivity to 5G networks,” she said.
Government investments
María Rivas took advantage of her visit to the City of Ordes to remember the more than 5 million euros that the Government is investing in this municipality in actions such as the improvement of the train station, executed by Adif in the amount of 2.3 million euros; the more than 600,000 euros of the IDAE for the replacement of public lighting by a more efficient one or the 1.7 million of the Just Transition funds, which allow, among other actions, the rehabilitation of the social premises of Mesón do Vento as social housing or the creation of an alternative mobility itinerary in the DP-5903 from Ordes to Portomouro. In addition, Ordes benefits from the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan implemented by the Provincial Council for the implementation of the Greenway Compostela-Tambre-Lengúelle and which has an investment of 1,375,400 euros from the Government.
