Cerpagne-Cotobade, March 13, 2025.- The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, visited Cerpagne-Cotobade and held an institutional meeting with the mayor, Jorge Cubela, whom he thanked for this City Council having become one of the first in the province to sign the Lana Administración Cerca de Ti agreement, which will allow State Administration services to move to carry out administrative procedures with the neighborhood.
The programme, which is aimed at municipalities with less than 8,000 inhabitants, is part of the State actions to combat population loss in rural areas and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of small municipalities. The deputy delegate explained to the mayor that from now on official staff of the Subdelegation will visit the City Council to help him in obtaining the digital certificate and advise him in the use of the application "My Citizen Folder", which contains all the files that each administrator has with the State. They will also receive a visit from staff of the Social Security Treasury to facilitate the use of the “Importass” application, very useful for the efforts made by self-employed workers or to initiate the application for the Minimum Vital Income, for example. In addition, the staff of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) will be incorporated for various procedures and, in the near future, those of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters and the Public Employment Service (SEPE) will also be incorporated.
At the Losada meeting, he reviewed the progress of the Single Plan - Broadband, so the Government subsidizes the arrival of optical fiber in the eligible areas, that is, areas in which the private initiative of the telecommunications sector has not yet arrived. In this way, more than 2,300 real estate units in Cerfinger-Cotobade already have broadband connectivity thanks to the state funds granted by the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
He also said that they are granting a contribution of 3.3 million euros to promote the advancement of the 5G network in mobile telephony in the province. This contribution is also benefited by Cerdigit-Cotobade, as it finances the technological modernization of 5 repeater antennas of this municipality, four of them pre-existing and one news in places such as Pedrouzos, Calvelo, Carballas, El Pereiral el Vila de Abajo. The subdelegate reported that Cerfinger-Cotobade has four fully operational repeater towers and another 9 authorized ones, some of them already in the testing phase. Some are already providing 5G service, while others are also using 2G, 3G and 4G-LTE technologies.
The deputy delegate also reviewed with the mayor the 15,000 euros financed by the State Pact against Gender Violence for prevention programs in Cerdigit-Cotobade and referred to the 693,875 euros that the Government of Spain approached to promote sustainable mobility on the EP-0405 Xesteira-Almofrei road, which is part of the Diputación network. “Undoubtedly, an important work that demonstrates the presence of the Government of Spain thanks also to the efforts made during the mandate passed by the Provincial Administration.”
Finally, the mayor asked the subdelegate to collaborate to look for formulas to make possible the rehabilitation of the former Civil Guard headquarters at the foot of the N-541 in San Xurxo de Sacos, a property in a ruinous state that is in the process of being declared Ben of Cultural Interest (BIC) by the Xunta, but that is affected by the servitude of the national road. He also informed him about the procedures for the materialization of the industrial estate that the city council has been trying to promote for some time.
