The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, claimed today in Vigo the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the industry of Galicia, which materialized in these years in more than 2 billion euros of investments of the Ministry of Industry. Pedro Blanco pointed out that this figure “has no comparison with previous governments” and is allowing “the reindustrialization of Galicia” through an active industrial policy.
The delegate stressed that in the province of Pontevedra alone the Government granted 150 million euros to the industry through the PERTEs, figure of impulse to strategic sectors of the economy within the Recovery Plan. Pedro Blanco made these statements at the opening ceremony of the business forum organized by the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo to analyze the Draft Law on Industry and Strategic Autonomy. This law is intended to replace the current law of 1992 and is in the parliamentary process.
Pedro Blanco reviewed the main points of the normative news, noting that it materializes the commitment to dialogue and participation that the Government followed in its drafting. In line with this work, the text gathers the main demands of the sector, and introduces concepts such as decarbonization, digitalization, strategic autonomy, innovation, talent, gender gap, resilience, administrative simplification and green transition. The delegate appealed to the responsibility of the political forces to ratify this text in parliament, since “it provides security, certainty and new elements of support to our industry. Protecting those that are and promoting the implementation of those that enrich our industrial ecosystem.”
He also recalled that the law was born with the vocation of “being an instrument to improve the lives of people and peoples”, by consolidating “the opportunities that industry offers us to advance social equity and territorial equity, improving the social impact of it”.
