The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, made this morning an institutional visit to the City Council of Allariz to learn from the hand of its mayor, Cristina Cid, and its deputy mayor, Bernardo Varela, the situation and needs of the municipality.
On the one hand, the three made a review about the development phase in which the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan is located in the City of Allariz, within which the State Secretariat of Tourism contributes one million euros to the municipality for actions related to sustainable tourism. According to the deputy delegate, “this plan fits perfectly with the tourist model that represents the town of Allariz, an emblematic town that bets on the rural, in which this plan carries an excellent pace of development”.
In addition, it also took stock of the important assistance received within the State Pact against Gender Violence, which in 2024 allocated more than 13,000 euros to Allariz, aimed at the organization of initiatives to fight for the eradication of violence against women.
Likewise, both municipal representatives presented to Santos the needs of the municipality, so the subdelegate offered them the resources available to the Government of Spain to continue in the same line of joint work as until now. Among these requests was the support for the financing of tourism projects and improvement of the villa. The subdelegate undertook to transfer the information received in order to “continue collaborating and providing solutions to the City of Allari”?, he said.
Visit to COEX
The subdelegate took advantage of his presence in the area to approach the Conservation and Exploitation Center (COEX), which is equipped with machinery and staff of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. On this visit he was accompanied by the provincial head of the State Roads Unit in Ourense, Álvaro Rodríguez, and by the head of the Civil Protection Unit of the Government Subdelegation, Mari Carmen Lodos.
During the tour they verified that COEX has modern and updated machinery, with highly digitized facilities and with the necessary models to address any winter road problems on the demarcation roads, especially on the A-52. Working in coordination with the conservation centers of Pontevedra and Zamora, the Ourense facility keeps active all the necessary resources for this winter, such as snow removal, salt and brine machines, as well as brigades. In addition, it is planned to build a new warehouse that acts as a warehouse to store the material and part of the vehicles of the center.
