The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted the work carried out by the Civil Guard in the province in the fight against crime. He did so during a meeting with the mayor of Curtis, Javier Caínzos, in which the head of the Civil Guard Command in A Coruña, Colonel Fernando Pedreira, and the second deputy mayor and spokesman for Curtis, Iván Maques, were also present.
In the same, María Rivas told the councilor of the success of the operation developed by the Civil Guard on Wednesday, which resulted in the arrest of six people suspected of being part of a gang dedicated to perpetrating robberies and operating in the provinces of A Coruña, Lugo and Pontevedra and also in Asturias. “This is another example of the work carried out by the Civil Guard in the province and specifically in this municipality,” said the deputy delegate.
This respect, María Rivas pointed out that “it is as important to avoid crimes as to solve them and arrest the guilty,” as in this case. The subdelegate stressed that this was possible thanks to the increase in patrols carried out by the Civil Guard, “which gives priority to the allocation of human resources to deal with incidents in the face of receiving complaints.”
In the same vein, he appealed to the collaboration between administrations to continue guaranteeing the security of citizens and recalled that in the Concello de Curtis crime decreased, with a decrease in all crimes except cybercrime, with a rate of 27 per thousand, “well below that of the province and of Galicia”.
