The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted on Tuesday the impact of the government action in Outes, with more than 1 million euros to transform the municipality aimed at ecological and digital transformation face a more sustainable model that improves people's lives. He did so in a working meeting that he had in the Delegation with the mayor of the town, Manuel González.
Pedro Blanco stressed the importance for citizens of improvements such as those carried out by the Government in the vicinity of the Tins River and financed with funds from the Recovery Plan. “With this work, the Government manages to return to the neighborhood of Outes its river, so identified with the villa,” said the delegate. No project, called Renatur-Outes and promoted by the Biodiversity Foundation, dependent on the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, also took part the three Galician public universities, the Montescola Foundation and the Centre for Eurorrexionais Studies Galicia - North of Portugal.
The main objective of this project is the recovery of the riverside forest, the control of invasive species, the cleaning of waste in the river environment and the environmental awareness of the citizens through voluntary, educational and informative actions. In this way it is intended to promote public participation and continue to deepen the unique historical and cultural relationship that Outes has with its river.
In parallel with these tasks, the Government is also undertaking the improvement of the connection of the Plaza del Concello with the Tins river promenade, also financed with the funds of the Recovery Plan within the framework of the project of tourism sustainability of the Geodestination of the Ría de Muros and Noia, implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
This plan, endowed with two million euros, also includes the reinforcement of the coastal path of the Muros and Noia estuary, betting on the opening of new sections for people and bicycles, parking areas for these vehicles and also for motorhomes and the organization of use in protected natural spaces, as is the case of the Tins River.
In the working meeting, Pedro Blanco and Manuel González also evaluated other possible actions of the Government in Outes, such as improvements in housing or more contributions to the enhancement of the natural environment of the town and its environment.
