The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the government’s commitment to the modernization of proximity trade and the improvement of services to citizens with the funds of the Recovery Plan. He did so during a visit, together with the mayor, Margarita Lamela, to the municipal buyer of Cee to learn about the reform works, which were supported by more than one million euros from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through the line of promotion of sustainable urban purchases.
As the delegate explained, thanks to this investment (1,057,979.36 euros that represent 80% of the total of the project) the neighbors of Cee have a new space in the center of the villa that combines gastronomy, crafts and culture. “With this action we respond to a demand of the neighborhood that also allows the revitalization of trade, tourism which will undoubtedly help the improvement of the economic dynamism of Cee,” said Blanco.
The actions consisted of the integral reform of the municipal purchase. The building’s thermal envelope and sound insulation were improved, while the building was equipped with a new, more efficient lighting system and photovoltaic panels for energy production. “We are talking about a more efficient building with lower energy consumption, therefore more sustainable, that will have better lighting, more natural, and that will be better integrated in its environment,” said the delegate.
Next to the works in the building, the project ‘AMACEE’, beneficiary of the Government’s aid, also includes the creation of a web platform and an APP, a gastronomic space, exhibition and craft areas and also a rest area and promotion of the Camino de Santiago, as well as campaigns to promote local trade.
Pedro Blanco took advantage of the visit to congratulate the mayor of Cee, Margarita Lamela, for her diligence in obtaining these funds from the Recovery Plan that, as he said, “will change for the better the lives of the neighbors and neighbors of the town and that will be a revulsive for local commerce and for other sectors of the town.”
