The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, participated in the closing act of the V Job Fair, organized by the University School of Labor Relations of A Coruña (ERLAC), which brought together more than 30 leading companies in Galicia. No closing ceremony was accompanied by the Dean of the University School of Labor Relations, Jesús Vázquez Forno, to whom he thanked the invitation.
This Fifth Edition of the Job Fair focused on employment and health, offering a unique platform for young professionals to interact directly with Human Resources managers and explore job opportunities. The Government’s deputy delegate stressed the importance of these events, which also make it possible to create synergies around employment.
The deputy delegate stressed the firm commitment of the Government of Spain to training and employment, fundamental pillars of its political action. Since 2021, more than 645 million euros have been allocated to Galicia to improve the labour market, promote entrepreneurship and promote professional training and requalification.
In her speech, the subdelegate indicated that “thanks to the labor reform promoted by the Government, the labor market is now more dynamic and resilient, with a temporality in historical minimums and a more stable recruitment model.”
Among the outstanding achievements, he mentioned the doubling of the Interprofessional Minimum Wage in six years, reaching 1,134 euros in 2024, especially benefiting working women.
He also mentioned the dynamism of our labor market, stressing that there are more than 21,100,000 people employed in Spain, which means a historical record of contributors at both Galician and state level.
María Rivas highlighted two new investments announced by the government this week. On the one hand, the 7 million euros for training and requalification plans of 12,751 unemployed people in Galicia, announced by the Ministry of Education; and on the other implementation of the "María Goyri Program" signed by 16 CC.AA. among which is Galicia, which foresees the creation of 4,480 teaching positions in public universities, promoted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
The deputy delegate concluded by reaffirming the Government’s commitment to continue working on the creation of a strong economy and a dynamic labour market, always putting people at the centre of political action. The 5th ERLAC Job Fair not only met expectations, but also opened new opportunities and future projects for all participants.
