The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today encouraged the new superior chief of police, Pedro Pacheco, to consolidate Galicia as the third safest community in Spain, thanks, among others, to the number of troops assigned to the Galician police stations, the highest in history. He said this in the speech with which he congratulated the Chief Commissioner during his inauguration ceremony, which was presided over in A Coruña by the Director General of the National Police, Francisco Pardo, along with the Deputy Director General of Operations, José Ángel Jiménez.
Pedro Blanco highlighted the curriculum of the new superior chief, pointing to his last command as central chief of operations at the General Commissariat of Judicial Police, where he was responsible for elite units such as UDYCO or UDEF. And he pointed out in this regard that “Galicia wins” with this appointment.
The delegate recalled that the first act he shared with Pedro Pacheco was to dismiss the group of Galician police who collaborate with the tasks of rescue and reconstruction of the areas affected by the dana: “a trip that perfectly symbolizes the essence of the National Police of vocation and service towards citizenship”.
From this shared month, Pedro Blanco highlighted the involvement and dedication shown by the new command, “confirming the expectations generated by his curriculum,” said the delegate.
The delegate also thanked Ramón Gómez, Pacheco’s predecessor in the position of senior police chief in Galicia, for his time sharing, his dedication to the service of Galician society and his loyalty. Also to Fernando Martínez, until a few days ago regional head of Operations and who assumed the provisional command of the Headquarters, for his generosity and professionalism.
