The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the enormous contribution that the public company Tragsa is making in facilitating access to the funds of the Government Recovery Plan for municipalities, consortia and deputies. He did so in the framework of a meeting with the president of the entity, Jesús Casas, at the headquarters of the public company in Santiago de Compostela, in which they were accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, and the territorial head, Manuel Villarroel, and in which they reviewed the different projects that Tragsa is developing in Galicia.
Pedro Blanco recalled that the company, through its subsidiary Tragsatec, launched last year a technical advisory service for municipal entities, consortiums and deputies to speed up and facilitate access to the funds of the Government Recovery Plan and ensure its correct management, to which a total of 287 entities are currently attached throughout Galicia, among them 273 concellos (87% of the total). “Thanks to initiatives like this, the funds of the Government Recovery Plan reach each and every one of the Galician concellos to improve the lives of their neighbors,” said the delegate.
The procedures offered by this service are complementary to those already developed by the Government Delegation with the different municipalities. For this, the public company has a central assistance team, another at the regional level and an antenna team in each of the four provinces.
Other performances
At the meeting, in which the delegate thanked the president of Tragsa and his team for their work and collaboration, they also reviewed the rest of the actions being carried out by a public company in the Community. Among them, he highlighted the modernization of the irrigation of the Limia or the works of the logistics platform of Santiago de Compostela, both with the works already begun or about to begin.
Tragsa also began this summer the construction work of the new base for the prevention and extinguishment of forest fires in Laza (Ourense), in which the Government committed an investment of 3.8 million euros, and was the company selected by Xunta to tackle the decontamination of the neighborhood of Contrasto in Porriño, affected by the presence of lindane.
Of the works undertaken by Tragsa, the most advanced is that of the new Cerceda meteorological radar, financed from the funds of the Recovery Plan and with an investment of about 2 million euros to double the height and multiply the capacity of the control center.
The public company is also responsible for the maintenance of various infrastructures on the high-speed line Madrid-Galicia, as well as the clearing and removal of trees on the State road network in the autonomous community. The investment of the Ministry of Transport for these actions exceeds 19 million euros.
“All these actions, as well as the maintenance of the Pazo de Meará or the conservation and improvement of the island of Sálvora, give an account of the important footprint of Tragsa in the territory,” said Pedro Blanco, who took the opportunity to thank his staff for the work carried out and encourage them to continue in the same line.
