The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, visited this morning the facilities of the Command of the Civil Guard in A Coruña, where accompanied by the Colonel Chief of the Command, Fernando Pedreira Lata, welcomed a total of 24 civil guards, students and students who have just joined the different units of the province of A Coruña.
The deputy delegate in A Coruña said that the Government’s objective with these new additions is to prioritize the presence of student guards in territorial citizen security units, with special emphasis on the areas of demographic challenge. So much so that the incorporation of these guards will mean a significant improvement in coverage in this province reaching 95.87% on average.
María Rivas, once again highlighted the budgetary and training efforts of the Government so that today the Civil Guard has in Galicia the largest number of troops in its history: more than 5,300 men and women, to whom these 24 agents are incorporated in the province.
In this regard, last June a new offer of public employment was approved that will allow a total of 2,721 student guards to be incorporated into the training centers once the competitive examination process is concluded, the highest figure since 2009.
The subdelegate reported that this new incorporation of students in practices in the province, represents a notable increase in relation to the previous year, with an increase of 9 guards, going from 15 to 24 people.
The new student guards will carry out this new stage of training in 11 units of the province, attending to the following distribution: Main Post of Boiro (3), Main Post of Carballo (4), Main Post of Arteixo (3), Main Post of Cambre (2), Main Post of Culleredo (3), Main Post of Oleiros (2), Main Post of Milladoiro-Ames (3), and 1 for each of the posts of Corcubion, Betanzos, Sada and Ordes
These 24 people, students and students of the promotions 129º of the Academy of Guards of Baeza and 170º of the College of New Guards of Valdemoro, continue their training with an internship period that will last 40 weeks.
The subdelegate also reported that during this time, in addition, a small number of students will also develop part of their practices in units in some specialties deployed throughout the territory, such as the Traffic Group.
María Rivas wanted to express the commitment of the Government, indicating that “we are with the Civil Guard, the one of the present; and with the incorporation of new agents, strengthening the one of the future”. He also insisted on the effort being made with the internal modernization of the Civil Guard, as well as with the improvement of equipment and barracks to give a better service to citizens and combat new forms of crime.
After reiterating his welcome to the 24 people who are now joining the province, he asked for an effort to contribute to the improvement of the security of the entire citizenry, to fight against those who violate equality, and especially those who exercise, promote or justify any violence against women.
