The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, met today with representatives of the Provincial Association of Hotel and Catering Businessman of A Coruña, where she wanted to highlight the boost that the Government is giving to the professional accreditations that in Galicia aims to accreditation of more than 30,500 workers and for which an economic endowment of 1,963,440 € is foreseen
This allocation is part of the 18.8 million euros allocated to Galicia, in a new economic allocation approved on September 10 by the Council of Ministers, for the consolidation of the I Plan for the Modernization of Vocational Training.
The subdelegate reported on these measures, during the meeting with the students who attend the basic training for kitchen assistant and waiter's assistant. This training, which is being developed at the Alvaro Cunqueiro School of Hospitality, is aimed at improving the employability of both unemployed people and those who want an improvement in their employment through the improvement in professional training, and therefore aimed at obtaining the corresponding professional accreditation.
Rivas, indicated that an important part of this item approved by the Council of Ministers will also be destined to the creation of 6,330 FP places in Galicia (14,962,500€), of which more than half (3,750) will be bilingual and will have an investment of 10,125,000€.
This last contribution for the consolidation of the First Plan of Modernization of the FP, is added to the 72 million euros approved in August to develop vocational training actions for the active population in Galicia.
Specifically, Galicia will receive 58,131,085 euros destined to the improvement of the training offer for unemployed workers; 12,176,872 for the training of employed and occupied; and 2,073,136 for the activation of specific territorial programs that will have to be finalized in December 2025.
María Rivas indicated that the Government is also promoting actions that reinforce the quality of the new vocational training system, through actions that allow the development of the national network of centres of excellence, that guarantee the stay of teachers and trainers in companies and VET centers, or that regulate the mobility of students and people in training through stays in and from Spain.
These actions to improve the quality of Vocational Training, have a financial allocation of 1,756,188 for Galicia, which can also be used to organize the regional championships, to develop collaborative projects with sectoral associations to support small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to carry out innovation and knowledge transfer projects.
María Rivas indicated that the Government has a firm commitment to Vocational Training, with an investment of 5,367 million euros in the last four years for the creation and promotion of the new Vocational Training system throughout the State.
