The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, announced that the Government of Spain “comes from adding one more investment” in the city of Pontevedra with the change of cover in the logistic-military residence Virgen de la Peregrina. The work was awarded for an amount of 184,875.9 € to the company Prosema Noroeste, which must take charge of the removal of the old roof and the placement of a new one.
The intervention will eliminate existing water leaks and improve the building’s energy efficiency, as part of the Government’s efforts to improve the sustainability of all public buildings. This action is in addition to the contract already concluded in June that will allow the construction of new accessible toilets on the ground floor of the residence.
The deputy delegate of the Government recalled that the Ministry of Defense has been bidding so far this year for different actions worth more than one and a half million euros in the city to, among others, asphalt the exterior parking of the General Morillo Base, improve the closure of its cannon maintenance ship, repair the roof of its kitchen-dining room or expand its dressing rooms. For its part, the Military Naval School of Marín approved the actions to improve the equipment of its residences, its sports equipment and the adequacy of its infrastructures.
He also recalled that the Executive is in the process of creating a children’s education center in the General Morillo Base and the works to unfold the homes of Rosalía de Castro. “Actions that together exceed 5 million euros and that added to all the investments that the Government of Pedro Sánchez has in progress in this city show its determined commitment to the municipality and the province of Pontevedra.”
