The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted this Sunday in Antas de Ulla the impact that the Government Recovery Plan is having on the development of the Galician rural. It did so during the opening ceremony of the Casa da Cultura in the town of Lucense, which was subjected to a process of reform undertaken with funds from that plan.
The delegate explained that the intervention in the building of the Casa da Cultura was included in the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP), of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, a program that promotes the rehabilitation of public buildings in collaboration with local entities and that focuses on improving the energy efficiency of these facilities.
Specifically, the works consisted in the reform of the building’s energy envelope (facades and roof), improving its insulation and gaining in comfort. For this, the City Council had a contribution of 816,885 € from the Government through the PIREP for a total investment amounting to 945,000 euros. During the sessions, the Library’s equipment was maintained and the rest of the available space was reordered to allow it to be versatile and accessible to all the cultural associations of the concello that use these facilities, such as Fiadeira, the theater group, La Coral and the School of Music of the Band of Music of Antas.
Pedro Blanco congratulated the mayor of Antas, Pilar García Porto, for her diligence and for having undertaken this performance “in record time”, since, as he recalled, when he took office, even the basic project was not yet done. “Thanks to Pilar, the neighbors of Antas have today a public equipment to match their needs that I hope they enjoy for many years,” said the delegate.
The government delegate in Galicia took the opportunity to highlight the fact that, thanks to the Recovery Plan, “government money is reaching each and every one of the Galician municipalities, regardless of their size, to transform and improve the quality of life of their neighbors.” “Antas is an example of how a small town can take advantage of the government’s initiatives,” added the delegate, who recalled that this city of Lucense was one of the 50 members of the Tax Agency’s program to improve care for the elderly during the Income campaign.
Antas de Ulla also benefited from the funds of the IDAE to undertake actions to improve energy efficiency and the UNICO program of the Ministry for Digital Transformation, which will bring high-speed internet to 358 homes and local companies that did not have this service.
