The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted in Ferrol the good progress of the works of transformation of the avenue of As Pías, in which the Government invests 11 million euros. He did so during a visit to the works in which he was accompanied by the mayor ferrolán, José Manuel Rey Varela; the deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas; members of the municipal corporation; representatives of the Ministry of Transport, of Navantia, and of the neighborhood associations, and in which he was able to see the progress of the works on the main access road to the city.
In particular, the delegate, the councilor ferrolán, and the rest of the attendees were able to observe the fulfillment of the commitments made, which go through the opening of the well-known Carretera de la Trinchera (FE-11) on August 30; the opening of the pedestrian and road bypasses through the FE-14 in the vicinity of the Calle Nueva de Caranza pass last Friday, September 6, and the demolition of the said pass, which began last Monday and is already very advanced.
Pedro Blanco recalled that this action, which will allow to unite the neighborhoods of Caranza and O Bertón, until now separated by an urban highway, “is the first of the humanizations that is executed in Galicia with the funds of the Government Recovery Plan”. “It is an ambitious and complex work in which it was key to coordination and collaboration between Government, Xunta and Concello to cause as little fans as possible,” he said.
However, he acknowledged that a work of this nature causes annoyance to the neighbors, neighbors and merchants of the surrounding neighborhoods, whom he thanked for their patience and understanding. “They are a nuisance necessary to sew neighborhoods, to create pleasant urban spaces, to transform Ferrol and, ultimately, to improve people’s quality of life,” added the delegate.
In this line, he affirmed that the Government’s objective is to “make Ferrol a better city, give back to the pawns the protagonism they should never have lost and bet on more sustainable mobility”, all of this, causing as few hobbies as possible to the citizenry. In this respect, he took the opportunity to recall that since last April there has been an office of attention to citizens in Venezuela Street where, from 9 to 20 hours from Monday to Friday, neighbors can request information or present complaints or suggestions regarding the works. In addition, he added that, for the same purpose, an email (ferrol@eptisa.com) and a telephone line (981318684) were enabled.
