The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, called today in Muros agility to the Xunta when executing the 426 million euros transferred to Galicia since the arrival to the Government of Pedro Sánchez for housing policies. He did so during a visit to the Concello de Muros in which he was accompanied by the Government’s deputy delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas, and in which they reviewed with the mayor, María Lago, the Government’s investments in the locality.
During the ceremony, the delegate stressed that the investments in housing in the city hall exceed 1.7 million euros and are concretized in the rehabilitation and improvement of the IES Fontexería, action that receives 1.4 million euros from the Recovery Plan through the Program of Impulse to the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP), and in the recovery and valuation of 17 properties in the historic center of the villa, with a contribution of Ministry of Housing of 300,000 euros. “They are money of the Government that manages the Xunta through its programs,” said Blanco, who took the opportunity to remind the Galician Executive of the duty to inform the origin of the funds with which it conducts the actions, “because many of those that sell their own are actually being financed with government money.”
Pedro Blanco also took the opportunity to highlight the government’s commitment to housing. “We are a government that is making this issue, which worries the many Galicians and Galicians, a pillar of its action,” he said, as evidenced in the approval of the first Housing Law of democracy or in the implementation of policies that favor the emancipation of young people, such as the line of guarantees of the ICO, “that will allow boys and girls under 35 years of age to access a mortgage covering 20% of it”; the ‘Young Rent’ bonus, or the more than 58 million euros that the government transferred to the Xunta for the construction of homes for social rent in the main cities.
The Government’s objective is to rehabilitate more than 20,000 homes and build 1,200 new social homes in Galicia, “but for that we need the loyal collaboration of the Xunta,” said Blanco, who aspires to be able to “work hand in hand with the Autonomous Executive to make housing that right that was previously included in the Constitution.”
Wall Investments
The delegate and the mayor of Muros, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, and the first lieutenant of Mayor of the town of Murcia, Caridad González, wanted to add value to the nearly 2 million euros invested by the Government in the town.
Along with the housing actions, Pedro Blanco indicated that the city council is also part of the Ría de Muros-Noia Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD) together with the municipalities of Noia, Lousame, Porto do Son and Outes. This plan, with a joint budget of 2 million euros from the Recovery Plan, includes the reinforcement of the coastal path of the Muros-Noia estuary, opening new sections for people and bicycles, enabling parking for bicycles and motorhomes, and ordering uses in protected areas.
The delegate and the mayor also verified the progress of initiatives such as the UNICO broadband program, which will provide high-speed internet connection to 782 homes and families that until now lacked this service in the locality. The Government’s investments in the town are complemented by the 32,952 euros received by Muros under the State Pact against Gender Violence.
