The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, received today the 12 new agents and inspectors who are carrying out their practical training at the Lugo Police Station. At a meeting held in the Government Subdelegation, Isabel Rodríguez welcomed this group, consisting of nine agents and three inspectors, accompanied by the provincial chief commissioner Luis Miguel Romera Pérez and the training delegate of the Lugo Police Station, Inspector Juan José Díaz Taboada. Nine of them come precisely from the province of Lucense.
The deputy delegate reiterated the commitment of the Government to continue increasing the staff of the National Police, which today reaches the historic maximum of troops in the Galician police stations. He valued the economic and budgetary effort of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to recover the loss of troops of previous years with calls that collect a replacement rate of 125%. The subdelegate pointed out that this effort translates into the more than 18,000 places called for entry into the Basic Scale of the National Police in recent years.
Practical training stage
Since last July, the police stations of Galicia have welcomed 116 trainees (90 men and 26 women) and 7 student inspectors.
In the case of police officers, the internship phase lasts eleven months and serves to ensure that police officers obtain the level of professionalization required for the development of the functions of the police category. To this end, they serve in the citizen security brigades, judicial police, foreigners and borders, scientific police and information, as well as in the complaints office. Once this internship period is over, the agents will already be incorporated into their first job destinations.
As far as student and student inspectors are concerned, they must undergo seven months of practical training as part of the Promotion to the Executive Scale Course.
