The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, visited the works of reform of the old supply plaza of Tui, which he put as “a perfect example of the good practices of using European funds”. The subdelegate stressed that “the spectacular reform of this municipal purchase goes beyond its modernization, since it means supporting and energizing local and @de proximidade commerce, attracting new audiences and generating added value and new uses, such as tourism, this type of space.”
The municipal market of Tui, located in Maristas Street, comes from being subject to a comprehensive reform in order to improve both its facilities and the shopping experience of its publics, in order to achieve recognition as an Excellent Market. The intervention was financed with an aid of 1.3 million euros from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Abel Losada highlighted “the aesthetic result achieved, of the highest level, that adapts the space to current social demands and probably make it one of the most modern supply places in Galicia, but in Spain”. He added that “anyone who wants to reform a supply square would have to visit and learn from this square, following the example of its mayor, Enrique Cabaleiro”.
Part of the new space, where the meat and fish stalls are located, has already opened the public this week. However, the new market will not be fully operational until next month.
In addition, and beyond the concrete action in the building of the municipal buyer, the project financed by the Government of Spain contemplates the digitalization of the local trade with marketing campaigns in digital media, the development of an application that provides information about the Tui trade in a comprehensive way, the creation of a “marketplace”, or the analysis of the purchase trends and competition of the Tudense trade
