The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, today renewed the collaboration of the Government of Spain with the automotive competition of the Ascent to Chantada, which will take place from July 26 to 28 and which celebrates half a century of life. Isabel Rodríguez chaired the Security Board together with the deputy mayor, Manuel Diéguez Carballo, coordinating the device “of this event consolidated in the sports panorama that reaches its 50th edition scoring for the Spanish Mountain Championship and recognized with the category of international FIA Test, issues that demonstrate its projection and competitiveness”.
The subdelegate said that the commitment and work of the Chantada Team, as well as the support of the institutions and sponsors, “are the basis of its success, with a consistency that makes this competition one of the oldest events in the national sport.”
In addition, Isabel Rodríguez congratulated the organizers for their involvement with motorsports and with Chantada, a town in the Ribeira Sacra, “which comes from being officially named as a World Heritage candidate”. He also highlighted “the link of motorsport with this region, choosing this location that puts the focus during the weekend of July 26 to 28 for runners and followers of this discipline, and that also works as an economic, social and tourist revulsive”.
The Government Subdelegation “will once again bring all the available means to ensure the correct development of the test through the Forces and Bodies of the State, to whom I thank for their professionalism and effort on extraordinary occasions such as this, putting in place devices equal to that implied by this competition”.
Finally, the deputy delegate appealed to the amateur public to “respect the indications of the organization, fundamental so that pilots and assistants enjoy the race and we can celebrate this half-century of life of the Climb to Chantada with all the guarantees”.
