The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, opened this morning the doors of the Subdelegation to the directive of the Neighbourhood Federation Castelao on the occasion of the Open Administration Week, an initiative that aims to bring public administrations closer to the citizens based on the principles of open government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration. Juan Loureiro, Juan José Esperón and Ramón López participated in the visit.
The tour of the offices of the Subdelegation in the Plaza de España and Calle Michelena was guided by the General Secretary, María Isabel Alonso. In the Registry Office they received an explanation of the functionality of the app and the website “My Citizen Folder”, from where procedures can be done in a simple and intuitive way and know the status of the files, as well as the expiration dates of documents. This office processed 33,772 documents last year and achieved a digitization ratio of 95%. In addition, 3,640 electronic certificates and 1,041 certificates of the Cl@ve identification system were issued from this service. In total, 7,557 people passed through this office in 2023, and so far this year almost 3,000. In addition, the Government ' s Subdelegation processed some 1,200 communications of demonstrations.
The subdelegate also explained the different programs and actions of the Government in the field of Demographic Challenge. Abel Losada stressed that “for this Executive it is essential to ensure the effective fulfillment of rights throughout the territory, with the objective of guaranteeing them live where people live”. Thus, he emphasized the Plan of 130 measures against the Demographic Challenge and broke the data of the DUS5000 program, as well as the “unstoppable progress” of the UN-Broadband program, which with an investment of more than 29 million euros, will allow to bring the high-speed Internet connection to the entire province before December 2025. Currently, 95% of the provincial territory already has this type of connection. The subdelegate took the opportunity to announce that on June 26, the Subdelegate will organize a meeting with the project director of Hispasat, Miguel Ángel Argüelles, to which all the municipalities of the province will be invited, to publicize the UN-Rural Demand Program. This initiative offers 200 Mbps connectivity at a price of 35 euros per month to users who do not have fiber. “Thanks to this Government’s firm commitment, connectivity in the province will be 100%, in the vast majority of cases by fiber and in the rest, in the most distant nuclei, by satellite.”
Abel Losada also reviewed other investments, such as the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plans or the Mentor Classrooms, which allow small municipalities to offer non-telematically regulated training to their neighborhood.
The subdelegate also recalled the commitment to commercial dynamization in these localities, with programs such as “De tu mano”, managed by the County Council of Pontevedra with state funds, the Xoven Rental Bonus, which with 23 million euros benefited 5,000 young people in the Autonomous Community or the Digital Kit, to which 9,500 companies of the province have already been added thanks to an investment of approximately 40 million euros.
Finally, the subdelegate delivered the Letter of Services of the Subdelegation for the period 2024-2027, which comes from being published, and which allows a quick understanding of all the administrative procedures and services that depend on the Government Subdelegation in Pontevedra.
