The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, pointed to the government’s commitment to infrastructure and quality employment as key elements for the growth of Compostela companies. It did so within the framework of a meeting with the board of directors of the Tambre Business Area Association, headed by its president, José Fernández Alborés, which served to strengthen the alliance between the Government and businessmen and women in this area in different matters.
In this regard, the delegate cited actions such as the construction of the Orbital link, which will enter into service this summer and in which the Government invests 30 million euros, or the Orbitaliño, with 25 million euros of investment and which is currently being worked on in the drafting of the constructive project. “These are infrastructures that will allow to channel up to 90% of the heavy traffic between the business areas of the city, which will benefit not only the companies, but the whole of the citizens,” said Blanco.
“We are making historic investments to bring Santiago up to the economic, social and institutional relevance that this city deserves,” said the delegate, who recalled that “it was this government that took them out of the drawer, approved them, tendered them and is now going to finish them.” Among these investments, which amount to more than 200 million euros in the city, he also cited the construction of the cleansing news of Silvouta, already in execution, the intermodal station, the recovery of the historical heritage or the modernization of Santiago as a tourist destination, among others.
All these actions, said Pedro Blanco, “were possible in part thanks to the funds of the Recovery Plan, which already mobilized in Galicia 3,800 million euros in aid and direct investments.” In this regard, he reported that 77% of the entities benefiting from this money in Galicia were companies. “We are talking about more than 27,500 self-employed people, SMEs and large Galician companies that benefited from these funds,” he added.
The delegate said that the government and companies, such as those in the Polygon of Tambre, “share the same objective of business modernization, in which we prioritize sustainability, digitalization and quality employment.” A commitment to quality employment that, he said, is also materialized through the Integrated Employment Programs, “in which this Association is already expert” and which funds the State Employment Service through the Xunta de Galicia.
Pedro Blanco concluded that the meeting with the Business Area Association of Tambre was “a productive meeting” in which “the issues that concern us and concern us” were put on the table, but that, above all, “it served to transfer Compostela entrepreneurs to the open hand of this Government and our availability to continue moving forward together in the face of that economic and business transformation so necessary and already, unstoppable”.
