The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, pointed out that the Government advances in its commitment to sustainable mobility with the next installation of 23 charging points for electric vehicles in the Santiago de Compostela station that will be supplied with energy generated from renewable sources. Adif and Adif High Speed come from allocating the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of these recharging points to Repsol Comercial de Productos Petrolíferos, which has an execution time of 30 months.
María Rivas was today in the parking lot of the Compostela station to highlight the investment of more than 860,000 euros in the province for the installation of a total of 44 chargers distributed in the stations of A Coruña, Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela. The investment in the latter amounts to 429,226 euros.
As explained by the subdelegate, this initiative “seeks to promote clean transport in transfers to and from railway stations and increase services to travelers in these spaces, called to become nodes of sustainable and intelligent mobility”.
The project is part of the Ecomilla programme, which aims to promote energy-efficient and zero-emission mobility on first and last mile journeys, through the development of sustainable mobility areas for zero-emission vehicles and shared vehicles, among other clean transport modes.
Adif and Adif AV/AV strategy against climate change
The action is part of the Plan to Combat Climate Change of Adif and Adif AV/AV 2018-2030, which includes the promotion of sustainable mobility and electromobility as a tool to meet the objectives of decarbonization of economic activity. Not total of the Spanish territory, more than 1,000 surcharge points will be installed, with an investment amounting to 18.3 million euros from the Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
