The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, reported on Wednesday that four Galician companies will receive more than 15 million euros from the PERTE of the Circular Economy to boost their activity. These grants are included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) carried out by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
Pedro Blanco celebrated the actions that the Galician industrial fabric is carrying out in favor of a less polluting future. “The contributions made by the Ministry are very important in the plans that the Galician companies requesting are drawing for their future, making clear the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to a powerful industrial future while respecting the environment,” said the delegate.
The initiatives selected by the Ministry to improve its waste treatment belong to Cedan Jobs S.L., which will receive 1.5 million euros, and Alumisel S.A.U., which will receive a total of 6.1 million divided into items of 3.3 and 2.8 million euros. The companies that will receive funds to reduce the use of virgin raw materials are, for their part, Foresa Chemical Industries of the Northwest S.A. and Pet Select S.A., which will enter 3 and 4.4 million, respectively.
Of the 351 applications received at the state level, 102 projects were selected that will receive a total of 165.5 million, with grants of between 150,000 euros and 10 million per project. Cofinancing varies between 15 and 60%, depending on the type of action and the size of the entity. That is why it is worth highlighting the commitment to the circularity of the beneficiary entities, since the total investment directly associated to this hundred projects is 415.6 million.
The 102 projects selected are developed by 115 beneficiary entities (10 of them are carried out by groupings that group 23 companies). 52% of the actions selected are led by SMEs, although they implement projects with smaller amounts, absorbing 37% of the aid.
Circular Economy PERTE
This call is part of Action Line 2 of the PERTE aimed at projects to boost the circular economy in any sector. The objective has been to support projects and actions that contribute substantially to the sustainability and circularity of industrial and business processes, in order to improve the competitiveness and innovation of the industrial fabric within the framework of a circular economy.
To this call will be added this year the calls for aid planned for the key sectors of textiles, plastic and equipment for renewable energies, corresponding to the action line 1 of the PERTE, all within Component 12 “Industrial Policy of Spain 2030”, of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The ecological transition is one of the four fundamental pillars identified in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of Spain, along with digital transformation, social and territorial cohesion and equality. This Plan contains 30 components, among which is Component 12 “Industrial Policy of Spain 2030” which includes a series of reforms and investments in the field of circular economy and waste, highlighting investment C12.I3 “Plan to support the implementation of the Spanish Circular Economy Strategy and waste regulations”. The latter is configured as one of the fundamental instruments for the deployment of the circular economy and to advance in the achievement of the climate objectives of the European Union.
