The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held a meeting with the heads of National Police and Civil Guard in the province to finalize the operation for the autonomous elections on February 18.
The meeting was attended by the Lieutenant Colonel Chief of the Command of the Civil Guard, Fernando Pedreira; and the Provincial Commissioner of A Coruña of the National Police, Fernando Martínez; in it a review was made of the logistical operation that will be deployed to guarantee the electoral process of February 18 in the province of A Coruña.
In the next regional elections, a total of 1,088,388 voters and electors will be able to exercise their right to vote in the province of A Coruña. In addition, 32,893 are girls and boys who vote for the first time on their 18th birthday since the last elections in July 2020.
On February 18, people with full voting rights in the province of A Coruña will choose a total of 25 deputies and deputies to the Parliament of Galicia.
Regarding logistics, the subdelegate stressed that A Coruña will have 1,543 tables distributed in 881 electoral venues throughout the 93 municipalities of the province. These tables will be attended by 4,629 people who will be part of them as holders and alternates.
María Rivas said that the security mechanism for the electoral day will have a total of 2,617 members of the Security Forces and Corps, including the Civil Guard, the National Police, the Autonomous Police and the Local Police.
In this regard, the Government’s deputy delegate wanted to highlight the involvement of the State Security Forces and Corps, to facilitate that from the first hour of the morning until the schools are closed and the count is made public, everything works and runs with absolute normality in order to guarantee the right to vote of all citizens in this important meeting with the ballot boxes.
Of the total of 1,088,388 people who make up the total electoral census, 923,537 correspond to the census of voters and electors resident in Galicia (CER) while 164,851 are people from the electoral census of residents abroad (CERA).
