The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, received today the new colonel of the Civil Guard, Manuel Touceda, with whom she held a meeting to address the main lines of action to be followed for the maintenance of citizen security in the province.
The deputy delegate received the new head of the command highlighting “the important work he assumes and the trust placed in his figure after 33 years of service provided to the Civil Guard body.”
Isabel Rodríguez stressed that Manuel Touceda “will be a fundamental piece in responding to the new affronts that citizens are experiencing in terms of security”, and took the opportunity to value “the team of men and women who are part of the Civil Guard in the province, who already have a new leadership that will prioritize at all times the well-being and protection of people”.
Trajectory
Manuel Touceda, born in 1971, holds a degree in Law and joined the General Military Academy of Zaragoza in 1990, serving the corps for 33 years, where he was mainly assigned to the Tenerife and Pontevedra Commanders.
During his military career, he held the positions of lieutenant chief of the anti-drug fiscal group, chief captain of the information services of the Canary Islands area, chief commander of operations of the Pontevedra command, or chief lieutenant colonel of operations in Pontevedra.
He participated in 1997 and over a year in the formation of the National Civil Police in Guatemala on the occasion of the “Peace Agreements”, and holds many decorations, among which stand out the silver cross order of merit of the Civil Guard, nine crosses with white badge of the order of merit of the Civil Guard, United Nations medal, cross to white police merit or medal of A Guarda Nacional de Portugal, among others.
