The Government Delegation in Galicia reports that the Center for Legal Studies (CEJ), an organ attached to the Ministry of Justice, published the definitive list of the 792 beneficiaries and alternates of its second call for the exchange program for the preparation of evidence of access to judicial and fiscal haste, to the Body of Lawyers of the Administration of Justice and to that of State Lawyers.
Of these beneficiaries, 52 were granted in Galicia (43 women and 9 men) with an annual amount of 6,611 euros. The overall amount allocated for this second call is 5,239,880 euros.
The portfolio managed by Pilar Llop launched this initiative last year with the aim of “facilitating access to these legal professions to those who have the necessary capacity to access them, regardless of their socio-economic situation, so that the lack of economic resources in families is not an obstacle”, in the words of the minister herself.
Of the 792 exchanges granted in this second call, 648 correspond to the tests to access in the judicial and fiscal careers; 120 are destined to the Lawyers Corps of the Administration of Justice; and the remaining 24, to the candidates to be part of the State Lawyers Corps.
Their concession is mainly determined by the level of income of the applicants. In addition, factors such as being victims of gender violence or terrorism were taken into account, and a quota was reserved for applicants with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%. According to Llop, these are “bags based on social justice and designed for the vast majority”.
Of the total beneficiaries, 630 are women (79.55%), compared to 162 men (20.45%).
By autonomous communities, the three with the highest number of awardees were Andalusia (212), Comunidad Valenciana (107) and Madrid (78).
