The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, thanked this morning in the city of Sarria the work of the Civil Guard for the “great work” they are developing with the educational community of the municipality to identify actions that may constitute a crime and their prevention through the Master Plan. This program for coexistence and improvement of safety in schools has already carried out 44 training actions in the different schools and institutes of Sarria throughout the last two courses.
The deputy delegate held a meeting with the mayor, Claudio Garrido, together with security officers of the City Council, Civil Guard, Traffic Subsector and Local Police. Rodríguez referred to the great work that the body develops with schoolchildren, giving talks “of very important issues for them”, based on bullying and cyberbullying, hate crimes, internet and new technologies, drugs, gender violence and equality and nature protection and fire prevention.
In addition, he pointed out that at the beginning of the course there was an exhibition of means and vehicles of the Civil Guard and other emergency services, highlighting the air service with a helicopter, the cavalry squadron with 6 horses, the cinoloxic service with 2 dogs or the laboratory and nature protection service.
Two workshops on the prevention of violence and bullying were also held in the last month of August, as part of the activities organized in the Summer Camp of the City of Sarria.
“We must redouble our efforts in the prevention of crimes among minors, as well as give them tools through training and information so that they know the functioning of the Civil Guard and improve the coexistence and security of the whole society, knowing that in the face of calquer problem or conflict they can count on their services.”
Master Plan in the province
In this year 2023, more than 370 workshops were held in the province’s educational centers on cybersecurity, prevention of addictions such as alcohol, tobacco and other substances, also in terms of sports betting, equality and violence against women, bullying, road safety or prevention of forest fires.
