The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, went to the Town Hall of Castro Caldelas accompanied by the subdelegate of the government in Ourense, Emilio González, to supervise the state investments in the municipality and meet with its acting mayor, Sara Inés Vega. Pedro Blanco highlighted the Government’s support for urban regeneration in this town, which will result in the renovation of 6 homes in the historic center under the Urban Regeneration Program of the State Housing Plan.
Pedro Blanco put Castro Caldelas as an example of the government’s commitment to small municipalities and the renovation of their historical complexes and infrastructures. “Localities such as Castro Caldelas are called to be protagonists of the transformation of Spain towards a green, digital and sustainable country,” said the delegate, who also stressed its importance to achieve the objectives of the demographic challenge and in the development of the first sector.
The State Housing Plan benefits 22 municipalities in Galicia, of which three are in the province of Ourense: Castro Caldelas, Ribadavia and Ourense, which add a total of seven Areas of Regeneration and Urban Renewal. In Castro Caldelas, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda will invest 100,000 euros for the rehabilitation of 5 homes and the renovation of a sixth that, adding public and private investment, will mobilize more than 290,000 euros.
During the meeting with the acting mayor, the delegate highlighted the commitment of the Government and reiterated the "maximum interinstitutional collaboration" for the development of key projects in rural Ourense.

Pedro Blanco also advanced the impact of the investments in digitization that the Government is executing through the UN-Broadband Program, financed from the funds of the Recovery Plan and which will bring high-speed Internet to 66 population centers and more than 400 businesses and homes in the town, which means the complete digitization of the municipal territory.
In addition, he pointed out that the farmers of Castro Caldelas are also benefiting from the aid for livestock farms affected by the drought that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food allocates to the sector, 9.8 million euros that began to be paid in October to 12,000 farmers throughout Galicia, in addition to the aid provided by the Strategic Plan of application of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
