The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, reiterated today the Government’s conviction of the leading position of A Coruña in the sector of new technologies: at the regulatory level, with the headquarters of the Spanish Agency for Supervision of Artificial Intelligence, and at the scientific and business level with the City of ICT: “two pillars of this new Coruña that we are building hand in hand by the Government with the City Council and with its mayor, Inés Rey”. He added that the confidence of the Government translates into the cession of the land necessary for the installation of the technological park, in the financing of the virtual platform that is being built there and, finally, in the next entry into operation of the AESIA, in the center of the city of Córdoba.
Accompanied by the deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, Pedro Blanco participated today in the inauguration of the first building of the City of ICT, the Center for Advanced Studies, which will house different companies and research services. This building will be joined next year by the virtual platform promoted by the Diputación de A Coruña and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with more than 5 million euros of the Recovery Plan. All this with the aim of turning it “into a reference for the new industrial model of the city of A Coruña”, said the delegate.
In his speech, he reviewed the arduous work that allowed the cession of the land to build this park: “the first of this Government’s commitments to A Coruña, land with a market value of more than 50 million euros”. And it highlighted the joint commitment of the different administrations involved: “We show that we are up to this challenge.” He also recognized the role of the Weapons Factory workers: “It was they who allowed this historical industrial heritage to be maintained and to reach the current managers in the best conditions.”
The delegate concluded by reiterating the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to the construction of a Coruña “more digital, better communicated, more sustainable and more inclusive” with the investments it is executing in infrastructure and public services, sustainable mobility and digitalization.
