The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, celebrated that eight out of ten small municipalities in Galicia already receive technical advice from the Government to speed up and facilitate the access of municipalities to the funds of the Recovery Plan as well as collaborate in the management of the funds granted. He did so on a visit to the headquarters of the public company Tragsa, in Santiago de Compostela, where he was accompanied by the subdelegate in the province, María Rivas; the president of Tragsa, Jesús Casas, and the territorial head in Galicia, Manuel Villarroel.
Pedro Blanco supervised with them the advances in Galicia of the initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Finance and Public Function and offered by Tragsa through its subsidiary Tragsatec, and encouraged the other Galician municipalities to benefit from this advice.
The government delegate took advantage of this meeting to add value to the footprint of the Recovery Plan at the local level, where it is already promoting 1,000 projects that impact all of the 313 Galician municipalities. And he recalled that the objective of the Government is not to lose a single euro of the funds of the Recovery Plan and to speed up the arrival of these funds to each city of Galicia.
Complementary advice
Tragsa has been offering this technical assistance service since March 15 and requires the beneficiary entity to formalize a prior accession. The priority objective is local entities with less than 5,000 inhabitants, which are usually the ones with the most limitations and difficulties in management. In addition, the deputations and universities can also join it.
In the case of Galicia, the three Galician universities have already formalized their accession; the communities of Arousa Norte, Salnés, and Galician municipalities of the Camino Frances, and the Diputación de Ourense.
The functions of the Program are to help the affiliated entities throughout the process, from the calls to the resolution, with special emphasis on the management of the CoFFEE platform, an integrated information system in which the managers designated by each administration - after training - give an account of the progress of the projects. It will also ensure compliance with the code of good practice and the management duties of the Recovery Plan.
This service is in addition to what is offered by other administrations and also by the Government Delegation itself, which launched an information unit aimed at municipalities.
Tragsa projects in Galicia
During the meeting, the government delegate also monitored the progress of other actions carried out by Tragsa on behalf of various ministerial departments. Among them, the construction of the new BRIF base in Laza stands out, in which the Government committed an investment of 3.8 million euros from the Recovery Plan.
Tragsa is also collaborating at various levels in the execution of the modernization of the irrigation of the Limia, which includes investments of 42 million euros, and undertakes the expansion and improvement of the meteorological radar of Cerceda, with 2 million euros from the funds of the Government Recovery Plan.
