The University of Vigo is one of 16 university centers throughout the country that benefit from the aid of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) to provide training courses in digitalization and sustainability in the field of transport and mobility. The final resolution of this aid, which comes from being published, allocates to the University of Vigo 1,081,050 euros of the 9.9 million that mobilizes this call from the funds of the Government Recovery Plan.
Specifically, within the framework of this action, universities will offer 61 different courses, with a total of 219 editions, in which up to 7,251 people can be enrolled. The initial goal of the call is to train about 3,945 students by June 30, 2025.
In the case of the University of Vigo, these training actions, aimed at the acquisition and improvement of professional skills, will consist of six courses with topics such as logistics digitalization; innovation in the business model of the new mobility; agile transformation of the organization; data infrastructures applied to the transport sector; digitalization of the transport and logistics sector and digital communication for mobility, 503 places will be offered in total in its 12 editions.
The Mitma website already has the list of training actions subsidized with European funds available, so that those who want to register for these courses, which is expected to start during the last quarter of the year, can know all the available training offer.
The 16 universities benefiting from European aid must award a diploma or degree of their own to each student who successfully completes training in digitisation and sustainability in the air, land or maritime sector and related logistics and infrastructure.
Future calls
This call is part of the grant program for training courses for digital training and sustainability in the field of transport and mobility, included in component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
Altogether, the programme has a budget of 33 million euros with the aim of training 11,835 people by 31 December 2025 so that they can develop and acquire the digital skills necessary for society and companies in the transport and mobility sector to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the digital economy.
It is planned to make future calls that can accommodate the other non-university training centers.
