Allariz, June 26, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, and the mayor of Allariz, María Cristina Cid, co-chaired this morning the Local Security Board of the municipality with the incorporation of the civil guard and the Local Police. With this first call, this collegiate body was established in order to facilitate effective coordination and cooperation between the different public administrations in matters of security in the territorial area of the municipality of Allariz.
During this first meeting, the City of Allariz and the Subdelegation of the Government in Ourense ratified the incorporation of the Local Police into the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System). The head of the gender violence unit of the Government Subdelegation, María Alida Iglesias, was also present at this meeting.
The Local Security Council approved the accession to the FEMP Protocol for the protection of victims of domestic and gender violence and the accession to the Protocol of Coordination and Collaboration that will later be signed by the City Council with the Ministry of the Interior to regulate the presence of the Local Police in the VioGén system, thus making effective the participation of Allariz in this operation.
Emilio González highlighted “the institutional loyalty, receptivity and collaboration of the City Council and its mayor in this fight, which allows to increase both the coordination and the fight against male violence at the local level.”
With this new incorporation, the province of Ourense will have eleven of the twelve municipalities incorporated into the VioGén system: Barbadás, Celanova, Maceda, Ourense, O Barco de Valdeorras, O Carballiño, Xinzo de Limia, Ribadavia, Trives and Allariz.
This system allows the Local Police to have more information about all the active cases of male violence in the municipality, assuming the follow-up and control of some of these cases.
As for the City of Allariz, the Local Police will assume the control and follow-up of the cases considered low level of risk or unappreciated risk, while the Civil Guard will be in charge of the follow-up of the rest of the cases. The number of active files attached to the Local Police will be a maximum of two.
As for the data provided by the Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Subdelegation in Ourense, they indicate that there are currently eight active cases in the VioGén system of this municipality, of which six present a medium risk and the other two present a non-risk apreciado.Cinco of the cases are of special relevance and have judicial measures of approach and communication and in another there are minors in a situation of vulnerability.
