The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, explained the logistics that will be deployed to guarantee the electoral process of May 28 in the province of A Coruña, in which 924,409 voters and electors will vote. In addition, 35,632 are girls and boys who vote for the first time on their 18th birthday since the last municipal elections.
With their votes, the Coruñesas and the Coruñeses will choose a total of 1,231 councillors from the 93 municipalities of the province. They will also elect 31 provincial deputies and deputies.
Regarding logistics, the subdelegate stressed that A Coruña will have 1,544 tables distributed in 889 electoral venues. There will be 1,544 ballot boxes and 889 booths available to choose the ballot papers.
These tables will be attended by 4,632 table members and 1,017 representatives of the Administration who will be responsible for verifying the correct opening of tables, resolving incidents and collecting the data of the vote count.
María Rivas said that the security mechanism for the electoral day will have a total of 2,390 members of the Security Forces and Corps, including the Civil Guard, the National Police, the Autonomous Police and the Local Police.
The Government’s subdelegation allocates 1.2 million euros to the costs arising from the logistics and security of this electoral process. Of this amount, a significant part goes to pay the more than 8,000 people who work in the preparation and development of the election day.
Of the total electoral census, 922,112 people are resident voters (CER) while 2,297 are foreign voters.
Of the total census, 20,361 people formalized the request for the vote by mail and 41 Galicians and Galicians who temporarily reside abroad.
Ensure the correct functioning of the whole process
During these days, the subdelegation of the Government was finalizing both the logistical and security devices so that the electors of the province can exercise their right to vote with the maximum guarantees . In this regard, the Government’s deputy delegate held several working meetings with the different actors involved in the electoral process next Sunday, in order to supervise the proper functioning of the electoral mechanism.
In addition to meeting with representatives of security forces and bodies, María Rivas traveled to the logistical warehouse for the distribution of electoral material that the government delegation has in the Pocomaco polygon.
From this point all the material that the administration personnel classify (stationery, posters, ballot boxes, booths) is distributed to each city council of the province.
The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña also held a meeting with the technicians of the subdelegation and the municipal secretaries of the province to check that everything is prepared in each of the municipalities of the province for May 28.
In each of the visits and the meetings she held, María Rivas thanked the Administration’s staff for their involvement and collaboration in order to make the electoral process work perfectly and thus guarantee the appointment with the ballot boxes.
The subdelegate highlighted the effort that such a deployment of both technical and human resources represents for the Administration and expressed her satisfaction with the professionalism with which all the processes are being developed prior to the meeting with the ballot box next Sunday, May 28.
