INCORPORATION To the VIOGÉN SYSTEM
During this first meeting, the City of Trives and the Subdelegation of the Government in Ourense ratified the incorporation of the Local Police into the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System).
The Xunta Local de Seguridad approved the accession to the FEMP Protocol for the protection of victims of domestic and gender violence and the accession to the Coordination and Collaboration Protocol that will later be signed by the City Council with the Ministry of the Interior to regulate the presence of the Local Police in the VioGén system, thus making effective the participation of Trives in this operation.
Emilio González highlighted “the institutional loyalty, receptivity and collaboration of the City Council and its mayor. In this fight, which allows to increase both the coordination and the fight against male violence itself at the local level.”
With this new accession to the province of Ourense, it will have ten municipalities incorporated into the VioGén system: Barbadás, Celanova, Maceda, Ourense, O Barco de Valdeorras, O Carballiño, Verín, Xinzo de Limia, Ribadavia and Trives.
This system allows the Local Police to have more information about all the active cases of male violence existing in the municipality, assuming the follow-up and control of some of these cases.
With regard to the municipality of Trives, the Local Police will assume the control and follow-up of the cases considered to be of low risk or of unappreciated risk, while the Civil Guard is responsible for the follow-up of the rest of the cases. The number of active cases assigned to the Local Police will be a maximum of two.
As for the data provided by the Unit against Violence against Women of the Subdelegation of the Government in Ourense, they indicate that currently in this town hall there are two cases in the VioGén system, of which one presents low risk and another presents unappreciated risk. One of the cases is particularly vulnerable and both have judicial measures of approximation and communication.
