The government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, reported today that Galicia is the autonomous community in which the most impact is having the program La Administración Cerca de Ti, with which the officials of the Delegation and subdelegations move to municipalities of less than 8,000 inhabitants to provide services in situ. “Of the five provinces in Spain with the highest participation, three are Galician,” he said, referring to the latest monthly balance, in which Ourense is the leader, ahead of Madrid and Cuenca. Next, A Coruña is in fourth position and Lugo, in fifth.
“We are reducing the digital divide, with great success in strengthening social and territorial cohesion in Galicia,” said the delegate, who put this pilot program as a sign of the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with an open and useful State Administration to improve the lives of Galicians and Galicians live where they live.
José Miñones claimed that the Administration can only be useful if it is close and accessible to citizens. It did so in the context of the central day of the celebrations of the Open Administration Week, in which it toured different headquarters of the State Administration in Galicia in the company of a group of six people representing the citizenship.
The delegate stressed that transparency and accountability are an obligation for any public administration. “The Government of Pedro Sánchez firmly believes in the strengthening of an Open Government policy. To this end, we open the State Administration to citizens, so that it collaborates in the creation and improvement of public services,” he said, adding that “the Government Delegation in Galicia is open every day to Galician citizens, who will always have their home here.”
