The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today in Curtis claimed the impact of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government in the small municipalities of the province, with investments that allow them to advance in the green transition and digital connectivity.
María Rivas traveled today to Curtis where she oversaw with Mayor Javier Caínzos, the projects that the Government of Spain is financing and developing this locality and that represent an investment of more than 1.5 million euros, within the framework of the Recovery Plan.
The deputy delegate highlighted in Curtis the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to the municipalities and the local administration, especially the least populated, which receive preferential attention in different calls for the Recovery Plan.
“These municipalities are a fundamental axis of the Plan, and are essential to ensure that these funds reach the citizens and are executed in full,” said the deputy delegate.
One of the programs with the greatest impact is the DUS-5000, which is managed by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and in which the Curtis City Council reached an aid value of 1,002,000.28 euros. Thanks to the replacement of the old luminaires with other LED technology, the City Council intends to achieve an energy saving of close to 60%.
With these funds, a total of 782 lights will be replaced and 100% of public lighting will be completed, with a total of 2,461 luminaires. The deputy delegate took advantage of her visit to the municipality to, together with the mayor, approach Brixería, one of the centers in which this substitution will be carried out ,
In addition, Curtis receives an aid of 237,551.20 euros from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism to boost the competitiveness, innovation and modernization of its market. The main activity of this project is the construction of a new roof that connects the two naves of the complex in which the regional fair of Curtis is held.
At the same time, other actions will be carried out to promote the modernization of the market such as an advertising campaign, the promotion of the use of reusable bags and the recycling of waste, digital signage and training activities to introduce the use of ICT among traders.
The deputy delegate also discussed with the mayor the situation of the projects in which the Government and the City of Curtis collaborate, such as the extension of broadband Internet access. Thus, the two already resolved calls for proposals of the UN-Broadband Plan managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation will make it possible to connect to the Internet with ultra-fast speed to 874 families and companies that currently do not have this service.
