The government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, stressed this morning in Bergondo (A Coruña) that “the government’s support for the Galician municipalities is more evident today than ever”. This was stated during the opening ceremony of the Abegondo-Cecebre Special Conservation Area (ZEC), which built the initiative of the County Council of Coruña with an investment of 2.2 million euros, of which 1.7 million, 77%, were approached by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
The president of the Provincial Council, Valentín González Formoso, and the mayor of Bergondo, Alejandra González Máquez, also took part in the event. After the inauguration, they toured together a part of this road that surrounds the Cecebre reservoir and connects the municipalities of Abegondo, Betanzos, Bergondo, Cambre and Carral. The walk was attended by different municipal representatives and the Government’s deputy delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas.
José Miñones stressed the support of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to the local entities of Galicia and specified that the Diputación de A Coruña has a total of 11 projects financed by the Ministry for Transition, which exceed 7 million euros with impact in 19 municipalities. In that sense, he thanked the municipal contribution: “The collaboration and cooperation between the government and local administrations lead them to improve the lives of our neighbors and our neighbors,” he said.
On the new ZEC path, which can be traveled both by foot and by bicycle, José Miñones stressed that cycling mobility is a priority for the Government and that the State Strategy for Cycling brings together in this project sustainable mobility with the will of the Government to bet on the Galician municipalities and revitalize the rural. “That’s how we make country. That’s how we built Galicia with our concellos,” he concluded.
