Maria Rivas has called on all owners’ communities to start processing the aid for the energy rehabilitation of buildings granted by the Government through the Recovery Plan.
The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, visited this morning the headquarters of the college of farm managers of Galicia, to support the promotion and information work that they are carrying out in order to publicize this aid. During her visit, the assistant delegate was accompanied by the president of the school, Martín Bermúdez de la Puente, along with other members of the board of directors.
Maria Rivas recalled that, since 2018, it is almost 300 million euros that the Government of Pedro Sánchez has transferred to Galicia for actions in the field of housing.
“These funds are a unique opportunity for all owners’ communities to access very important not only quantitative but also qualitative aid,” said the deputy delegate.
During her meeting with the collegiate body, María Rivas stressed that “the role of property managers as catalysts of this aid is fundamental, that is why it is necessary meetings of this type in which we can exchange impressions and study how to implement information to the citizens.”
The subdelegate of the Government has stressed the need to convey to the public terms such as “energy efficiency and sustainability” when talking about rehabilitation “With energy rehabilitation we not only reduce energy consumption but also reduce our receipt we increase the well-being and habitability of our homes,” she added.
María Rivas appealed to promote the “maintenance culture” of our buildings, something that is not yet too deeply rooted in society and that, precisely, “can and must change thanks to aid such as these offered by the Government through the Recovery Plan”.
The subdelegate called for the “proactivity of all the agents involved in the information and processing of this aid” to reach the greatest number of people and neighborhood communities “and thus ensure that these subsidies are not lost”.
Both the deputy delegate of the Government and the president of the College of Property Managers, Martín Bermúdez de la Puente, have agreed that disinformation is the main obstacle that must be overcome to ensure that this aid reaches the greatest number of communities.
In this regard, the subdelegate explained that for those communities that operate through self-management, the college of administrators puts at their disposal a list of professionals to advise them exclusively on this issue “without the need to administer the building”.
The goal of energy rehabilitation grants is to reduce non-renewable energy consumption in households by at least 30% and to decarbonize and reduce the demand for heating and cooling by at least 7%.
To qualify for these subsidies it is important to accredit the reduction in consumption and for this an expert has to issue an energy certificate of the house or building before and after the performance.
The most effective way to reach the thresholds required in the framework of the Recovery Plan is to act on the building envelope, placing insulation on both facades and roofs, and replace the carpentry offices with others with thermal break to prevent the cold from “slipping” through the windows.
