The delegate of the Government in Galicia, José Miñones, has noted today in a meeting with businessmen the great impulse that the Government of Pedro Sánchez is giving to the modernization of companies in Galicia. In particular, the delegate has reported that the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has already granted more 12,000 bonds to SMEs and self-employed people in Galicia through the Digital Kit program, which means an injection of 58 million euros from the Recovery Plan to the Galician business fabric.
“The Recovery Plan is reaching Galicia and its SMEs. The Government of Pedro Sánchez is the main ally for the modernization and growth of our companies and self-employed.” This was stated by the delegate after meeting with the board of directors of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Pocomaco, headed by its president, Lucía López Teijeira. In the meeting, which took place in this polygon of A Coruña, José Miñones transferred to the business community the calls and investments of the Government Recovery Plan from which Galician companies can currently benefit to enhance their modernization.
“In this Government we understand very well the importance of supporting our companies to generate economic activity, promote recovery and create jobs and wealth in Galicia,” said the delegate. In this regard, he highlighted that the Government’s Recovery Plan has deployed more than 2,400 million euros in Galicia and has favored more than 5,500 Galician companies, either through direct grants and subsidies, by concurrence, or through financing, to which are added the different calls for grants and lines of credit under advantageous conditions offered by the Government.
“We protect our companies and advance their modernization,” said José Miñones. The delegate agreed with entrepreneurs on the great success and usefulness of the Digital Kit program of Red.es, a public entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, which has a budget of 3,067 million euros and is financed through NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the Spain 2026 agenda and the Digitalization Plan for SMEs 2021-2025. “I encourage all SMEs and self-employed people in Galicia who do not yet have it to apply for their digital voucher”, he insisted, and added that the three calls are open and the deadline for the resolution of the files is less than 30 days.
Open Calls for Business Recovery Plan
The first call for applications for the Digital Kit program is open to companies with 10 to 49 employees, who are entitled to a bonus of 12,000 euros. The second call is for SMEs from 3 to 9 employees, with bonuses of 6,000 euros. The third is for companies or self-employed from 0 to 2 employees, with bonuses of 2,000 euros.
In addition to the Digital Kit, José Miñones transferred to the entrepreneurs of Pocomaco other actions and aid that the Government of Pedro Sánchez puts at their disposal to accelerate the economic recovery and increase the competitiveness of the business fabric of Galicia. Among them, the call for subsidies for the connectivity of industrial estates in Galicia, to which the Government allocates more than 4,3M€ through the Recovery Plan. In this case, the management is done through the Axencia for Technological Modernization of Galicia (Amtega), which José Miñones pointed out as “an example of how this Government executes the Recovery Plan in co-governance with the Xunta”.
In the same vein, the delegate said that Galician companies can already apply to the Enerxetic Institute of Galicia (Inega) for aid for the implementation of renewable energies and for self-consumption. In this case, they add more than 8.7 million euros of investment from the Government to promote the sustainability of companies in Galicia. On the one hand, the aid for the incorporation of storage in self-consumption facilities with renewable energy sources has an allocation of 2.6 million euros in Galicia and can be requested until the end of the year. On the other hand, the subsidies for the implementation of renewable thermal energy facilities in companies that Inega also channels are endowed with more than 6.1 million and can be requested until January 2, 2024.
“Our goal is for more and more companies to benefit from this funding to drive their transformation. The collaboration between government and business is bearing fruit, and that is why I encourage women entrepreneurs to go to the aid of the Recovery Plan so that Galicia continues to grow, generating wealth and employment,” concluded José Miñones.
